Oatmeal and shea butter base is off-white with a rich lather, made for scrub-style bars.

For a stronger scrub, the recipe book stirs finely ground oatmeal into the melted base, along with jojoba oil, sweet almond oil and almond essential oil. Pour, spritz the top with rubbing alcohol and leave it to set overnight.

The off-white base takes colour in soft shades, which the pastel-swirl recipe uses: split the melted base into three bowls, tint each one, pour them into the mold in thirds and draw a skewer through the layers for a marbled finish. A little colourant gives pastels; add more for bolder swirls.
